The Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Office of Energy
Efficiency will coordinate with the Center for Industrial Counseling and Development
under the Department of Industry and Trade in Thua Thien Hue to host the 3rd Energy Efficiency
Center meeting on 17
September 2010.
The conference is expected to welcome 150 delegates from
central and local levels, including representatives of the Ministry of Industry
and Trade, representatives and specialists of EECs in the whole country, together
with large enterprises in the city of Hue.

This is the third time the EEC Meeting is held on a national
scale. The 2nd meeting was successfully organized by Hanoi
Department of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Ministry of Industry
and Trade. The conference is an opportunity to evaluate the performance of EECs
in the whole country in 2010 and present the activities of the Centers in the coming time. This is also an opportunity for the Centers to share information
and exchange experiences in implementing energy efficiency projects, which have
contributed immensely to the National Program and promoting energy efficiency
in our country.
Implementing the National Program on Energy Efficiency and
Conservation directed by the Prime Minister in the Decision No. 79/2006/QD-TTg
on 14/4/2006, the Steering Committee has been carrying out many activities
aiming at saving the total national energy consumption by 3% to 5% in the
period 2006-2010 and by 5% to 8% by 2011-2015. One of the activities is forming
a national network of EECs.
Currently, the country has dozens of established and
operating Energy Efficiency Centers
which have achieved encouraging results, such as EEC Hanoi, HCM City, Haiphong, Tien Giang, Phu
Tho and recently Bac Giang.
The 3rd Energy Efficiency Centers Meeting is expected to be
held at Park View Hotel, No. 9 Ngo Quyen Str., Hue city.
